 Exhibition: The way I think

The way I think is a series of works from my current BA Fine Art studies, where I have been creating works that speak to social themes. I am interested in art that moves us to think beyond the picture frame, art that will encourage us to ask questions and interrogate our world.

Artist Bio - Jade Lees-Pavey

A Somerville resident for the past 17 years, Jade has lived on the Mornington Peninsula for most of her life. Born in Mornington, with a childhood in Moorooduc, she is, in most senses of the word, a local.

Building her artistic practice for over 30 years, Jade has been both creating and teaching, resulting in the development of concise bodies of work, as well as skill sharing, by way of facilitating workshops and classes.

In 2023 Jade returned to study (BA Art, Fine Art, Sculpture, RMIT) and is fully embracing a multi-media approach to her Art practice. Previous major studies of Photography and Printmaking (supported by minor studies in Design, Ceramics and Painting) are valuable supports to her current study and practice. Jade aims to create strong works, within the Sculpture discipline, with investigations currently focused on a Socially Engaged Practice, interrogating social and ethical issues.
