Community Art Spaces
The Mornington Peninsula Shire offers community art spaces for local artists to exhibit their work and build recognition within the community. Locations include Hastings, Mornington, Red Hill, Rosebud and Somerville.
Through this program, we foster awareness and appreciation for our creatives while making these spaces more dynamic and engaging for the public.
Individual and group exhibition applications are invited from local artists primarily producing two-dimensional artworks and some limited three-dimensional space by arrangement. If you interested in exhibiting, find out more: expressions of interest.
Artists, students, and local creatives interested in showcasing their work in our Community Art Spaces, visit our Opportunities section for the expressions of interest forms and more information.
Through this program we aim to:
- Promote awareness and appreciation of our creative communities
- Assist artists to develop and exhibit work
- Provide diverse, high-quality and accessible creative experiences for audiences
- Ensure that our public spaces are stimulating and engaging for visitors
- Support collaboration and creative learning for our community
The Arts and Cultural Development team are currently working to develop additional community exhibition spaces across the Shire. If you have any ideas, feedback or suggestions please contact us at artsandculture@mornpen.vic.gov.au
