Mornington Peninsula Live and Local Program

Big news for our local music scene! The Mornington Peninsula Shire is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Live and Local, a flagship program set to supercharge live music across our region, starting this October!

In partnership with the Live Music Office, Live and Local is a dynamic initiative designed to boost our local music ecosystem and create real impact. This isn't just about performances; it's about building a stronger, more connected, and economically vibrant music community right here on the Peninsula.

What to Expect from Live and Local:

  • Micro-Festival Events: Get ready for vibrant, localised music events that bring live performances directly into the heart of our townships.
  • Professional Development Workshops: Equip yourself with essential skills! We'll be rolling out workshops tailored for local musicians and industry professionals, covering everything from performance craft to business acumen.
  • Industry Forum: Connect, collaborate, and shape the future! A dedicated forum will bring together key stakeholders to discuss challenges, opportunities, and the strategic direction of live music on the Peninsula.
  • Boosted Opportunities: Expect more paid opportunities for local talent and increased activity for venues, contributing directly to our region's economic recovery and growth.

Live and Local is set to bring music to life in new and exciting ways, making sure our talented local artists get the spotlight they deserve and our community gets to experience incredible live performances.

Stay Tuned: Get Ready to Get Involved!

Want to be part of the Live and Local action? Keep a close eye on our channels for upcoming opportunities to participate!

We'll soon be calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from artists and performers keen to feature in the Live and Local micro-festival events. We'll also be releasing full details and registration for the Industry Forum, so you can mark your calendars.

Beyond these initial announcements, look out for opportunities to contribute to our live music census (helping us map the scene), get involved with the development of our music industry database (a vital resource for connection), and participate in working groups that will help guide strategic policy development for the future of music on the Peninsula.

This is your chance to contribute, perform, learn, and help us make some serious noise on the Mornington Peninsula!
