Vox Peninsula

VOX Peninsula Inc. is the Mornington Peninsula‘s newest choir performing a choral repertoire largely in the classical range in venues across the Peninsula.

The number of choristers at present are between 35-40 singers. We are actively pursuing greater numbers particularly from younger singers. Vox Peninsula aims to sponsor promising young musicians by developing a program which includes soloist opportunities for singers and instrumentalists. Our music program is developed and directed by trained music teachers. Rehearsals for the entire choir and sectionals which are held weekly provide an opportunity for music education and friendship with a community spirit.

VOX Peninsula which is a not-for-profit community choir, is attractive to audiences who appreciate quality and fine music. Audiences appreciate attending concerts which are audible, user friendly, value for money and reliably organised. Concert numbers typically range from one hundred to four hundred attendees (depending on venue) to each of 3 or 4 concerts annually. The money raised from these performances goes toward paying the professional Accompanist and Music Director and rental of performance space. Any additional funds which may accrue from performance are directed toward youth in need. Advertising of choral events is reliant on friendly sponsorship from quality businesses, including Intend Financial and Marshall White.

Weekly rehearsal contributions by choristers are disbursed to pay weekly rehearsal space rental in Mt Eliza, Accompanist and Music Director costs, Annual Third-party insurance, Membership of Choral association (ANCA) and music purchase.

The choir is managed by an unpaid elected committee who are all choristers. Their work experiences are diverse coming from areas such as Company Director, Nurse, Dietitian, Teacher, Music teacher, Psychologist and Accountant. Meetings are held monthly.
