Plein Air Painting artist callout - Our Stories
Published on 16 February 2025
Join us for an exciting opportunity to showcase your artistic talents at the Our Stories: Unearthed Heritage Festival on Sunday 18 May, from 10am to 3pm at the beautiful Mount Martha House.
We are inviting plein air artists to capture the stunning views and historic surroundings of Mount Martha House through outdoor painting. This is an ideal occasion to engage with the community and contribute to the celebration of local heritage and creativity.
After the success of the 2024 Heritage Event, the Mornington Peninsula Shire is excited to once again participate in the 2025 National Trust Victoria Heritage Festival, Unearthed. This year’s festival will focus on uncovering lesser-known histories and stories, empowering younger generations to become stewards of our culture and traditions.
Our Stories: Unearthed is a one-day event that will take place at the historic Mount Martha House, a location steeped in rich history. The event will feature a range of engaging activities, from the fascinating Mount Martha collection displays and exhibits from the Local Historical Society to the opportunity to have objects valued. Enjoy live music, indulge in traditional Devonshire tea from the Coffee Palace, or get creative at a decoupage workshop. Visitors can also experience a selection of films and enjoy plein air painting amidst the scenic surrounds.
This is a unique opportunity to explore the untold stories of our past, connect with the heritage of the Mornington Peninsula, and be inspired to preserve these stories for future generations.
