Exhibition Title: Where Clay Takes Me

Inspired by the natural beauty and everyday surroundings of the Mornington Peninsula, this exhibition brings together handmade ceramic works that explore colour, texture and form. The landscape finds its way into the work through coastal hues, organic textures and considered finishes.

Working intuitively with clay, each piece evolves through experimentation and discovery, allowing new ideas and possibilities to emerge throughout the creative process.

Embracing the beauty and imperfection of handmade ceramics, these works celebrate individuality and the unexpected qualities of working by hand, with no two pieces ever the same.

About the Artist - Kate Davis:

Kate Davis is a ceramic artist working from her home studio on the Mornington Peninsula, creating hand-built functional and sculptural pieces.

Her creative journey has been shaped by a background in interiors, textiles and floristry. A love of Australian natives developed while working on a wildflower farm on the Mornington Peninsula and continues to influence her work today. She has further developed her ceramic practice through workshops and immersive pottery retreats, including experiences in India in 2024 and Margaret River in 2025.

Today, Kate continues to explore the possibilities of clay, guided by curiosity and a deep connection to nature.
