Do You See What I See?

To truly see a place is to slow down, observe closely and notice what others may miss. Do You See What I See? celebrates the work of the Coastal Sketchers, a group of artists who capture the landscapes of the Mornington Peninsula through their own unique artistic perspectives.

Their artworks explore iconic landmarks, heritage buildings, seascapes, protected sanctuaries and agricultural vistas. Working outdoors and drawing directly from observation, the artists transform moments of stillness into creative expression, revealing the beauty, character and stories of the places around them.

Each artwork offers a personal interpretation of familiar landscapes, inviting viewers to see the Peninsula through fresh eyes while reflecting on the importance of preserving the places we call home.

About the artist:

Coastal Sketchers is a grassroots community of artists who meet monthly to sketch outdoors and celebrate the beauty of the Mornington Peninsula. Established more than two years ago, the group draws inspiration from the principles of Urban Sketchers Australia, using them as a flexible foundation for their shared creative practice.

Open to sketchers of all ages, skill levels, mediums and artistic styles, the group is united by a love of drawing, an appreciation for the local landscape and a desire to connect through creativity. Their sketches document the places they visit and the moments they experience, creating a visual record of the region's unique environment and character.

Through relaxed and welcoming sketch meets, members share ideas, support one another and explore new ways of seeing the world around them. Coastal Sketchers celebrates individual expression, friendship and the simple joy of drawing together.
