Penalty

Penalty are a Frankston based band who perform in Melbourne as well as greater Victoria.

Their instrumentation generally sticks to guitar, bass, drums and vocals but they are often known to give their live performances a step up by occasionally including a few odd instrument choices such as a fretless bass, a violin bow, a banjo, and keytar.

They specialise in experimental punk as well as touching on aspects of the local alternative music scene in Frankston, their genre bending sound resembling grunge, new wave and hard rock.

Penalty’s songs priorities lyrics that focus on current social issues, particularly in regards to the Melbourne working class.

They plan to release three singles within the first half of 2026 as they have recently recorded select tracks
