Event wrap-up and key findings

More than 40 people from across the local music industry came together for a crucial conversation about the future of live music on the Mornington Peninsula.

The forum was part of Peninsula LIVE, a new program for Mornington Peninsula Shire delivered in partnership with the Live Music Office to energise and sustain the local music ecosystem.

Attendees helped shape the next Music Plan for the Mornington Peninsula through open, collaborative discussions led by Bron Adams, live music strategist and national rollout lead for Live and Local, who works with councils across QLD, NSW, VIC and SA to support local music. Special guest Fiona Duncan, CEO of Music Victoria, shared insights from her 30+ years in the music industry — from artist and tour management to shaping Victoria’s live music scene.

The forum introduced Paddy Donovan, Peninsula LIVE’s new Policy Consultant, and Max Donahue, Venue Liaison.

Paddy Donovan – A powerhouse in the Australian music scene for over 30 years, shaping policy, championing musicians, and driving Victoria’s live music culture.

Max Donahue – Local promoter, festival organiser and band booker, passionate about supporting emerging artists and grassroots events across Victoria.

The forum provided a space for open discussion, networking and direct-action planning. It was a valuable opportunity for musicians, venue owners, promoters and music lovers to connect and collectively build a stronger, more vibrant music culture.
