Peninsula Chamber Musicians - Student Program

Peninsula Chamber Musicians are extending a special opportunity to aspiring young string players, inviting them to gain valuable rehearsal and performance experience alongside experienced musicians and mentors.

Selected students will join the ensemble for rehearsals of Elgar’s Elegy for Strings Op. 58 in preparation for performances on:

  • Saturday 7 November, 2pm at Flinders Civic Hall (optional)

  • Sunday 8 November, 2pm at Mornington Peninsula Community Theatre

Applicants should be of AMEB Grade 6 standard (or equivalent) and will require an endorsement from their instrumental teacher. Participation involves two half-hour rehearsals at Mornington Peninsula Community Theatre, 91 Wilsons Rd, Mornington, on:

  • Monday 27 October, 7.15pm

  • Wednesday 5 November, 7.15pm

A sound check will also take place on the day of each performance. Practice parts will be provided once applications are received.

This initiative is led by Anthony Pope, President of the Peninsula Chamber Musicians, who looks forward to working with talented string students from across the Mornington Peninsula.
