‘Salty’: a 10-minute short film about four teens whose fun day at a Mornington Peninsula beach spirals into a nightmare as they encounter prejudices after a mishap causes a PTSD episode triggering mental health issues, racism and toxic masculinity in Australian culture.
The Salty Project is a community engagement initiative bringing together local Mornington Peninsula youths, aged 13 – 18. Teamed up with award-winning filmmakers and acting professionals where local youth will get the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a working film set, attend workshops, and receive practical knowledge to continue their filmmaking craft beyond the life of The Salty Project.
All cast and crew will receive an onscreen film credit as well as knowing the film will be submitted into film festivals around the globe. These networking opportunities will be invaluable for those wanting to pursue a career in the film and television industry.
