Creative Grant

$8,500.00

Everything is Country is a sub-project that sits within the broader program of PULSE - a large-scale place responsive public art project at Coolart Homestead and Wetlands scheduled for public presentation in 2026/27, curated by locally based lead curator Penelope Gebhardt and Naarm/Melbourne based curator Gretel Taylor. ‘Everything is Country’ is the title of the proposed work by First Nations artist Mitch Mahoney (Boon Wurung and Barkindji). In consultation with Parks Victoria, Mitch proposes to create a series of shields and coolamons from the bark of trees at Coolart. The objects would be presented as part of PULSE and the scar trees would live on in the landscape beyond the project as a reminder, a presence and a celebration of culture.

This grant funding will support part of the artist fee and full production costs.
