Creative Grant

$8,301.38

HOWL is a short documentary exploring what it means to live as transgender openly, the consequences that transgender people can face- but more importantly, the benefit that proud gender expression can have. The film explores these ideas through the metaphor of ocean swimming; spoken word and interviews woven alongside striking visuals of our unique foreshores. Produced in collaboration with Fulla Beans Films, Flinders Fringe Festival and F-Word Films, it is helmed by Roe Bonnici, a local and proudly queer filmmaker/creative. The film will be completed prior to the end of this year (2024), with plans to be debuted at either MornPen Film Festival or Flinders Fringe Festival, with a 1 year plan for further distribution nationally/internationally.

This grant funding will support a portion of production costs including crew fees, equipment and licensing.
