CREATE presents Drawing and Painting Creatures and Characters

Cost: $10 per child

Creatures and characters is a two-hour illustration workshop led by children's book illustrator and teacher Karen Erasmus.

Using watercolour techniques and fun creative drawing activities you’ll develop confidence in painting expressive characters.Karen will guide you through the process of illustrating expressions and capturing moods to bring your ideas to life with colour and textures.

Whether you like drawing cartoons or experimenting with paint, this workshop offers a relaxed space to explore and create.

All materials are provided and students are welcome to bring their own paints and brushes

Artist Bio

Karen Erasmus is a children's book illustrator based on the Mornington Peninsula. She has been illustrating books since 2012 and enjoys running workshops in schools and libraries across Victoria.

Originally from the UK she migrated here with her young children over 20 years ago. Her illustrations are often inspired by the local countryside and animals.

Her most recent books include ‘Wombat Poos Are Square’ written by Sophie Gillies and ‘Maggie Makes a Moves’ written by Laura Motherway. When she’s not drawing and painting Karen lives with three dogs and seven chickens and loves walking and cycling.

 

 

CREATE is an innovative creative workshop program run by Mornington Peninsula Shire Arts and Culture to provide low-cost workshops for the local community to engage with the arts.
