Exhibition: Mayors Short Story Illustrations

This group show by members of U3A Mornington and the Peninsula Arts Society celebrates the long history of narrative in inspiring illustrative works. Illustration and stories work in tandem when we open a book, bringing the magical and vivid world the author has envisioned to life, deepening our emotional connection to the tale, and bringing out the playful actions of the characters. This is what the artists from U3A Mornington and the Peninsula Arts Society have achieved by responding to excerpts from the shortlisted entries in the 2025 Mayors Short Story Awards.

The artworks simultaneously honour the rich history of words to inspire art, and wonderful the creative writing talent of the Mornington Peninsula.
