This exhibition invites you to pause, look closely, and discover the often-overlooked details hidden within our everyday surroundings.

What Can You See in a Tree?

Inspired by the ever-changing surface of a special gum tree as it sheds its bark, this series of close-up photographs reveals the rich colours, textures and patterns beneath. Each image becomes a unique composition, encouraging viewers to use their imagination to uncover magical creatures, familiar shapes and unexpected forms.

What Can You Find in a Fence?

This series reveals surprising characters and stories hidden within the weathered surface of an ordinary grey paling fence. What may first appear unremarkable becomes a playful invitation to imagine, explore and create personal narratives.

Together, these works encourage viewers of all ages to embrace the joy of discovery and explore the many different ways each image can be interpreted.

About the artist:

Magda de la Pesca is a Mornington Peninsula-based photographer and writer who has been capturing the world through her lens since childhood. Her creative practice is driven by curiosity and a passion for storytelling through both words and images.

Throughout her career, Magda has worked as a freelance journalist, copywriter, screenwriter and educator, contributing to print, radio and television. She has previously exhibited at the Footscray Community Arts Centre and continues to write poetry, short stories and children'sliterature, including her recently published children's book, What Can You See in a Tree?

Through photography and writing, Magda continues to celebrate creativity and the stories found in everyday life.
