MP Music Network
An independent, not-for-profit organisation that represents musicians, venues, music businesses and music lovers from Mornington Peninsula’s contemporary music community.
What does MP Music Network do?
They advocate on behalf of our local music community, actively supporting its development and promoting diverse and accessible contemporary music.
Who does MP Music Network work with?
They work with Mornington Peninsula Shire Council and with Music Victoria to benefit our local music community.
MP Music Network was created in 2010 from a concept formed at the Peninsula Music Scene Community Forum, and incorporated in 2012. The Network is a totally inclusive association, its membership currently comprising over 300 individuals, comprising members of all sectors of the performing arts community, -musicians, sound, lighting and stage technicians, recording producers and engineers, agents, promoters, educators, venue operators, supporters and music lovers.
The management Committee is a team of passionate volunteers who actively support and promote the Mornington Peninsula contemporary music scene through our website, our social media channels and at live music events.
They do this via the following methods and initiatives:
- Professional development and networking events.
- Email news updates and reminders to members and subscribers
- Feature interviews and articles on musicians and events
- Help with grant applications for musicians, promoters and venues
- Professional development workshops for musicians
- Ongoing consultation and advocacy
