Songs for Loud Women is a theatrical song-cycle conceived by mezzo soprano and academic, Katrina Waters, about the resilience and tenacity women must employ to have their voices heard.

It deliberately platforms female voices to retell the myth of Brünnhilde from her own perspective. The libretto is compiled by Katrina Waters from interviews with women who sing the role of Brünnhilde on international opera stages. The music is composed by four leading female composers - Katy Abbott, Anne Cawrse, Melody Eotvøs and Iranian-Australian composer, Royal Safaei. This piece asks whether Brünnhilde is really asleep, or is she plotting within the fire in order to "Burn it ALL Down!".
