Created by artists Matthew Harding and Benjamin Storch, the artwork references the pier’s salvage; the timber footings being transformed into The Helix Wave. The sculpture also references the origins of The Rosebud - a cargo vessel that washed onto the beach in 1855. Salvaged timber from the hull was used by local fishermen for the construction of dwellings.
