Balnarring came alive on Saturday 21 March as Peninsula LIVE: Pretty Snazz in the Nazz transformed the town into a vibrant hub of music, energy and community connection.

Presented by the Mornington Peninsula Shire in partnership with the Live Music Office, the one-day microfestival delivered a full program of free live music from 10am through to 11pm. Across the day, more than 30 local bands and performers showcased the depth and diversity of the Peninsula’s music scene, drawing audiences of all ages into a shared celebration of live performance.

Music flowed seamlessly across multiple venues and outdoor spaces, with standout moments at The Social Club Balnarring, Balnarring Community Hall, St Mark’s Anglican Church and in the village centre, alongside lively outdoor stages at the Village Common and Skate Park. Each location contributed its own unique atmosphere, creating a dynamic and walkable festival experience throughout the heart of Balnarring. Beyond the music, the event offered a rich program of community-led activities. Highlights included an engaging percussion and drumming workshop with Poul Grage, and a well-attended record fair that drew in music enthusiasts from across the region. The Balnarring CFA’s community sausage sizzle, proudly sponsored by Community Bank Balnarring, added to the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Local businesses also benefited from increased foot traffic and community engagement, reinforcing the festival’s role in supporting the local economy while strengthening community ties.

Overall, Pretty Snazz in the Nazz was a resounding success—bringing people together, celebrating local talent, and cementing Balnarring’s reputation as a thriving destination for live music and community events.
