Peninsula LIVE: Policy Consultant
Mornington Peninsula Shire has partnered with The Live Music Office and APRA AMCOS to deliver the Live and Local program, a 12-month project designed to strengthen the local live music community.
This initiative focuses on best practice strategies to build capacity, foster growth, and provide long-term support for the local live music industry through the two key roles of Live and Local Venue Liaison and Live and Local Policy Consultant.
Live and Local: Policy Consultant
Are you an expert in live music advocacy and government relations?
Mornington Peninsula Shire is looking for a Live and Local Policy Consultant to help shape strategic policy that will support the long-term growth of the local music industry.
Perfect for a highly skilled professional with a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks that impact the live music sector at local, state, and federal levels. You'll work closely with the Shire and the Live and Local Venue Liaison over 12 months to provide expert guidance and help develop a comprehensive Live Music Strategic Plan for the region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and benchmarking existing council policies and identifying opportunities for better policy development.
- Providing expert advice on regulatory frameworks, including planning, liquor licensing, and building codes.
- Mentoring the Venue Liaison to build their capacity as a local advocate.
- Informing the development of a long-term Live Music Action Plan for the Shire.
We're looking for a professional with 5+ years of experience in live music advocacy and government relations. You should have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a proven track record of managing projects with set goals.
